Ctenocephalides canis (Curtis, 1826)

Ctenocephalides canis is an external parasite which belongs to the flea family Pulicidae. Is has a laterally flattened body and long hind legs which allow it to jump up to 50 cm. It feeds on blood which it sucks from its primary host, dogs.
